Li Chen Claims Age Group Win & 3rd Overall at IRONMAN 70.3 Hengqin on Avenger TM7

This past Sunday, March 15th, 2026, the inaugural IRONMAN 70.3 Hengqin made a spectacular debut in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Against the stunning backdrop of the "Heart of Hengqin"—the Tianmu Qin Terrace— nearly 1,300 athletes from 29 countries and regions pushed their limits in a grueling 1.9km swim, 90km bike, and 21.1km run.

Among the standout performances, we are incredibly proud to highlight Li Chen, who delivered a phenomenal result. Competing in the highly competitive M40-44 age group, Li Chen powered through the course with remarkable consistency and speed. Riding his Avenger TM7, he crossed the finish line to not only claim the 1st place title in his age group but also to secure an outstanding 3rd place in the overall men's rankings.

Strong results like Li Chen’s, alongside the presence of multiple TM7s in the field, are encouraging signs for the growing community of athletes choosing the platform.

The cycling segment, described in local reports as "riding with the wind," took athletes along a flat, fast, and open coastal circuit. This is the terrain where the aerodynamic prowess of the Avenger TM7 is designed to dominate.

Its frame is meticulously shaped through aerodynamic simulation tests to create the best cross-flow section design, minimizing drag and allowing athletes like Li Chen to maintain higher speeds with less effort. This efficiency is critical for conserving precious energy for the run to come.

The TM7's full internal cable routing isn't just for a clean, professional aesthetic; it's a functional design choice that contributes significantly to its aerodynamic advantage by reducing turbulence. Li Chen's victory is a real-world validation of the TM7's design philosophy: to create a machine offering maximum functionality, flexibility, and speed for the world's most demanding triathletes.

With 50 qualifying slots for the IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship in Nice, France on the line, the competition in Hengqin was fierce. Li Chen's performance not only earned him a well-deserved spot on the podium but also sets a new benchmark for age-group athletes in the region.

At Avenger Bikes, we are thrilled to have played a part in Li Chen's success. His achievement demonstrates that with the right combination of human spirit and superior engineering, extraordinary goals are within reach.
